That I can have such an opinion and create such a website?

My online persona is Kestrel, and I've been involved in anime (Japanese animation) for several years in various ways. I greatly enjoy CLAMP's work, from Tokyo Babylon, X, RG Veda, CLOVER, and CardCaptor Sakura, as well as other anime such as Patlabor, Fushigi Yuugi, Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun.

While it is great to see anime become more popular, with that excitement comes censorship, bad editing, and little things like changing the target audience of a show and therefore its personality and style. While I supposed I could understand the decisions made in the mutilation of CardCaptor Sakura into Cardcaptors, I do not think the executives in charge have any insight as to the buying power of little girls, or how to market a shoujo manga or anime, and therefore were unable to keep CCS in its original form.

I do thank them for the DVD releases by Pioneer of the original Japanese uncut episodes, starting at number one, where it should. And I have bought the Cardcaptors DVDs in order to have accurate information with which to point out the hideous differences from the original.

And, as much as I complain, I am glad to see more anime come to America, as well as all of the merchandising that supports, although the Japanese still have us beaten solidly on that front.
